What will you be doing?

We’re seeking a talented individual to join our ABS Training and Development team, which is responsible for playing a key role in training staff in practical ways to manage the firm’s regulatory and reputational risk in an increasingly challenging environment. We’re a national team of both direct staff and volunteers, proud to work closely with audit teams to provide continuous and relevant practical training. We work closely with both the National Assurance Technical Group (NATG) and Learning and Development, to provide a cohesive service.

As a Training and Development Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaison with all stakeholders to ensure all are kept up to date with relevant training and that feedback is taken into account
  • Liaison with the Training and Development team
  • Organisation, development, review and delivery of training to agreed timescales.
  • Prepare proposals for developing training, attend all relevant internal meetings and training sessions, develop a network of contacts.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, ACCA).
  • Significant external audit experience gained within a professional services firm
  • Demonstrable working knowledge of accounting and auditing standards, industry specifics and their application.
  • Good working knowledge of skill requirements of staff at various levels to ensure work undertaken by appropriate individual.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with all stakeholders
  • Experience of developing and delivering practical training
  • A strong appetite to see people develop and improve audit quality
