We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Audit and Assurance Quality Committee team in London. Audit quality is a fundamental priority for the audit practice with regulatory requirements on the continued increase.  The AAQC has a remit to monitor the quality of most of the services provided by ABS and to think ahead and identify emerging issues that might be detrimental to the delivery of quality work.

As Senior Manager, some of your responsibilities will include:

Primary role: assisting AAQC

  • To assist the AAQC with fulfilling its delegated responsibility for audit quality, in particular in relation to matters such as the annual quality monitoring review process, the maintenance of quality registers and maps and the assessments of quality on an individual basis.
  • To liaise with the National Head of ABS on maintenance of the risk register.
  • To liaise with NATG and the National Head of ABS on technical and skills training for audit partners and staff.
  • To liaise with the National Head of ABS on the maintenance of CPD records including the requirements of IES 8.
  • To attend NATG department meetings as necessary.
  • To liaise with the ABS Ethics Function on quality related matters.
  • To monitor the process for setting policies on specialist licenses and granting licenses.
  • To monitor the process for assessing and collecting data on rotation requirements
  • To liaise with other departments as necessary on ABS quality-related matters (e.g., the legal and onboarding teams)

Secondary role: assisting NATG

  • To provide UK GAAP, IFRS and audit technical support and training to the audit and business services departments (and other departments where necessary) across the group.
  • To manage more junior members of NATG staff.
  • To develop and implement Smith & Williamson’s audit methodology, anticipate and research technical issues and assist in quality control and developing the firm’s external technical profile.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • ACA, CA, ACCA qualification or equivalent
  • Good working knowledge of the quality standards, UK GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards and their application.
  • Some practical experience of either developing or introducing new procedures.
  • Presentation skills - ranging from small groups to larger audiences.
  • Project management and experience of getting things implemented in practice.
  • Good drafting skills.
  • Experience managing more junior members of staff

As a colleague here at Evelyn Partners you will have access to benefits that include:

  • Competitive salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • Life assurance
  • Pension contribution
  • Hybrid working model (role dependant)
  • Generous holiday package
  • Option to purchase additional holiday
  • Shared parental leave
