What will you be doing?

We’re seeking a talented individual to join our Business Outsourcing Team in Salisbury, which is responsible for the accurate processing of clients’ financial data and the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts and annual financial accounts within the timeframe agreed with the client or required by statute. Also undertaking the preparation of VAT returns and other VAT compliance.

As Accounts Assistant, some of your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Preparing and inputting client transactions into a computerised ledger system.
  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts for clients.
  • Preparing monthly/quarterly/annual VAT returns from financial information supplied by the client. Preparing Intrastat and ECC sales lists for clients.
  • Completion of other VAT services including registration, de-registrations, options to tax etc as required
  • Preparing annual financial statements including statutory accounts, partnership accounts, sole trader accounts, and trust accounts for tax purposes.
  • Visiting client premises to undertake on-site accounting needs as required.

 

To be successful in this role, you should have:

 

  • Started studying towards ACCA/ACA with AAT qualification or evidence of suitable work experience.
  • Prior experience with computerised accounting packages including cloud-based software.
  • Ability to work independently but as part of a wider team.
  • Results orientated to meet and exceed client expectations, with a key focus on delivering high-quality work that consistently meets internal and/or external client deadlines.
  • Understanding of new accounting standards.
