Job Purpose
This role is within the Investment Management Operations area of the Tilney Smith &
Williamson (TSW) Investment Management Team.
It focuses on providing dedicated technical support in data management and manipulation
techniques, including MS Excel/VBA based procedures and calculations.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop a detailed understanding of investment systems and processes
• Maintain and evolve MS Excel calculation templates and VBA macros, including
operational monitoring, calculation and instruction templates
• Enhance the calculation engines for in house performance and risk models, including
attribution and stress testing
• Take ownership of standardised data storage processes, management information
systems and data validation checks, where appropriate
• Ensure all team processes work towards mitigation of operational & regulatory risk
Technical skills and attributes:
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a dedicated data coding/data analysis role
• A high level of applied skill in MS Excel/VBA, Macros, Pivot Tables and MS Access
development
• Proven strong analytical abilities and highly numerate
• Ability to work at pace and deliver against established personal and team targets
• Propensity to work either independently or well within teams, collaborating with
colleagues to ensure the best outcome for internal and external clients
